ManiaBlitz
A downloadable game for Windows
What even is a ManiaBlitz?
ManiaBlitz is a free-to-play 4k rhythm game, where you hit different color notes in each lane! Think of it as Taiko no Tatsujin but with 2 lanes in DDR style! You can even create your own tracks with its built-in Editor!
ManiaBlitz is community-oriented, and has a online feature called ManiaBlitzNet (MBN for short) ManiaBlitzNet includes these following online features (and more will be included)
- Its own dictionary, where everyone can add anything! (not implemented)
- Custom tourneys (not implemented)
- Unlimited multiplayer lobbies with real-time score tracking (no, there is 500 ms delay or worse)
- Leaderboards with score submission
- Downloadable tracks (Not allowed to upload tracks yet!)
- Freely customizable profile (not implemented yet)
Note, some of these features may not be included inside the game yet, and more may be added at anytime/modified!
Q&A
It's just the same as osu!?
While this game is majorly inspired by osu! (and Rock Band BLITZ!) ManiaBlitz is a different game than osu! and it may have some elements that osu! already has. Every other rhythm game will probably have an element another rhythm game has. It's normal! The gameplay aspect is completely different though.
But with that being said, if you feel like the DESIGN PART of the game is too similar to something, please contact me in-game (or on discord), and report your issues to me!
Is this game a virus?
No, but if you don't want to just take my word for it, you can either download the game files and export them to VirusTotal, or you can click here (which is the game file already being scanned in VirusTotal) and see for yourself.
Can I help the game?
The only way you can help out maniablitz is by giving out feedback! If you're an artist, you can reach out to the lead developer to become a Featured Artist and include your songs into the starter pack (The songs that are included when you first download ManiaBlitz!)
ManiaBlitz is only developed by one person, and currently doesn't need new team members. Understand that DONATIONS can not be made, NOR it is acceptable!
What about ManiaBlitz v1?
ManiaBlitz v1 will remain in connection to the maniablitznet servers (The api for v1 is restricted and may crash if you try to do something online!) After ManiaBlitz v2 is released at its finished state, ManiaBlitz v1 will be discontinued, and hopefully forgotten.
Why is this game getting another remake? What happened to ManiaBlitz v1?
ManiaBlitz v1 was developed & released in a VERY BAD state, so bad that nobody wanted to play it (51 downloads in the time span of 6 months!) Due to many problems with the game engine ManiaBlitz was using at the time, it would've been expected to move to a newer and cleaner game engine. So ManiaBlitz v2 will be a complete replacement of ManiaBlitz v1, using the MonoGame framework, and NAudio audio library!
Alpha testing is open for everyone!
Try out the game for yourself! Please leave feedback if you can by messaging me on discord! (my username is just ladcan)

Install instructions
PLEASE READ
Warning, this game is very loud when starting up. This game also contains some bright lights! Please check your settings before continuing onto the gameplay
If you do not trust the integrity of the game files and believe that this game isn't safe, You can download the files and import them to virustotal!
or just click here to see for yourself!
How do I install and run it?
The game is stored on a folder ("ManiaBlitz v2.x") inside of a zip file called "maniablitz xxx", you need to extract the folder out of the zip file before running anything. DO NOT extract what's inside the folder, just move the folder out of the zip file.
You can extract the folder anywhere you want.
After you're finished extracting the ManiaBlitz folder, you can open up the folder and click on "maniablitz monogame.exe".
How do I update the game?
Download the new maniablitz client, do the same Installation tactic to export the maniablitz folder out of the zip, then you can run the . If you have a older version of maniablitz, you can just delete the old folder.
if you want to move your songs into the new maniablitz client. Go over to your old maniablitz client and DRAG all of the folders inside the OLD song folder into the NEW song folder. (You can do the same thing for the files inside the custom folder!)
It says I need this 'thing' to run the game, do I download it?
The game should start up without having any other dependencies (because I aim for this app to be standalone). If you can not start up the game without these dependencies (or you just don't care about tiny junk), then the only option would be to install the dependencies. But I HIGHY RECOMMEND to contact me first before it tells you to install anything, as I want to make sure .
It says "Windows protected your pc." when opening the game exe
This is a false alarm. Windows will detect any downloaded exe as a virus if its not signed by a developer. Signing an exe cost a lot of money (unless there is somehow another way to do it.) You can bypass the warning by clicking on "More info" and click "Run anyway".
